CBERS Redress Service

CBERS Redress Service (CRS) is funded by the Department for Communities and managed by the Edmund Rice Centre Mirrabooka. The service was set up in May 2008 to provide assistance to applicants of the Redress WA scheme. Between May 2008 and April 2009 CRS focussed on helping people submit applications for the Redress scheme and provided supportive counselling. Since the application period closed on 30th April last year, CRS has operated as a referral service and continues to run support groups for Redress applicants at the Fremantle premises. Support groups focus on a variety of topics, including assertive communication, managing anger, and building self-esteem. Plans are underway for an ‘Aboriginal Women’s Redress Support Group’, which will be facilitated by Ms Shirley Voss, and held at the Rivervale Community Centre. Details of the new group will be posted on the CRS website http://www.cbers.org/redress.html . If you would like to join one of the support groups, please contact the Fremantle office: Contact Details: CBERS Redress Service
