The Multicultural Youth Sport & Recreation Program for Refugee/Humanitarian Entrants aims to provide a stimulating and relevant environment, which will encourage young humanitarian entrants and aged 11 – 18 to participate in organised after-school sport and recreational activities. This program offers opportunities for:
Greater access to and improved participation in sport and recreation activities in the cities of Stirling and Wanneroo;
The development of leadership, coaching and management skills that can be applied in a range of sports;
Increased physical activity;
The building of positive and harmonious relationships with Australian-born youth and adults;
Increased access to local sporting clubs;
Help for local sporting clubs to increase their membership by linking them with youth interested in ongoing participation.
Session times are Tuesday afternoon 4pm – 6pm.
